How are we all? Safe and well I hope.

Myself and the team are missing you all. And I’ve personally shed a tear or two the last few months hearing from my brides who have had no choice but to postpone their wedding due to Covid-19. Being kind of a newlywed myself, I can only imagine how devastating this must feel for you.

We’ve read a new report that shows 17% of UK weddings have been postponed to 2021, 6% have been cancelled completely and 30% have been postponed to later in the year.

But there is hope.

With restrictions easing every week, business slowly reopening and loved ones reunited – the wedding industry and brides around the world are gearing up for wedding day celebrations!

And I for one cannot wait…

Whatever your wedding plan – small and intimate or a big bash, chances are the plans for your wedding may have to be altered in order to follow government advice on social distancing.

But that’s ok. If you’re going ahead with your wedding this year or in 2021 (yay you), we have some tips to help.

Seize the opportunity

If you are in a position where you need to re-plan your wedding day from scratch, although that must feel gut-wrenchingly sad – it’s an opportunity to a) be in the same place as your nearest and dearest and b) create a fabulous intimate affair with far less stress and maybe save a buck or two…perhaps even upgrade that honeymoon?!

Break the mould

We don’t mean to make light or downplay what you must be feeling. We’ve been sad too. But let’s make the most of this situation and be positive. This is an opportunity to break with tradition, prioritise what’s important and give your closest friends and family THE best post-lockdown bash they’ve ever seen! How about a late-night party? A glamourous family dinner? Or a charming outdoor wedding? We personally think weddings are likely to forever following the pandemic. Be a trailblazer and set the bar!

Double the fun

You have every right to feel angry and upset about your wedding plans changing. So, why not be kind to yourself and indulge in romantic party for two and celebrate the original date you were getting married?! You could dress up and maybe say your vows. Drink Champagne, eat some fabulous food and share some silly selfies with your friends and family. Or even better, jump on Zoom and let them join in the fun! If this pandemic has taught us anything, it’s just what is important in life. And that’s the love you share with your partner. This is only a temporary blip! You WILL get your day with your friends and family eventually.

Get in there

Please don’t make the mistake of thinking that all dates for venues and suppliers are fully booked in 2021. From my personal experience, many of the brides I have spoken to who have had to postpone their wedding have been successful in securing their first choice of dates and venues. Which is amazing news. We also have several dates still available for hair and makeup, plus we are hiring additional staff to help with the surge of beautiful brides who have been in touch. So, give me a call today!

Whatever you decide to do, you have our love and support. And if you’d like us as your glam squad at your wedding, then we’ll be there with bells on!
